Dematic's Community Outreach Program represents a collective initiative to actively contribute to the well-being of the local communities where we reside and operate. Our goal is to foster a culture of generosity among our global team by engaging in corporate giving, encouraging employee volunteerism, and establishing collaborative partnerships within the communities we serve.
We are honored to spotlight some of our ongoing global community partnerships and programs.
Dematic’s corporate nonprofit partner is For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST). FIRST plays a pivotal role in motivating the upcoming generation of science and technology leaders and innovators. Their mentor-based programs are designed to cultivate skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
In addition to annual team grants and a youth scholarship, Dematic’s global network of engineers annually volunteer more than 500 hours of service with FIRST, serving as mentors, competition judges, and team coaches.
In 2024, Dematic participated in our second annual Global Volunteer Month sponsored by Points of Light. Created as a time to celebrate service and inspire volunteerism, this global group project engaged more than 300 employees worldwide. Locally led by our campus champion network, Employee Resource Groups, and team leads, our organization contributed more than 1,000 hours of service in the communities we call home.
For more than a decade, our Grand Rapids office has contributed time, talent, and treasure to Kids' Food Basket. In their pursuit of a future where all children have access to the nourishment that fosters their lifelong health and limitless potential, Dematic employees continue to provide the necessary support to combat food insecurity in our backyard. In addition to annual volunteerism and financial support, Dematic recently provided an in-kind design project for their new purpose-built facility. For this project scope, Dematic assisted in their efforts to optimize their new facility's layout and design configuration to achieve their distribution goals. The project resulted in creation of multiple high-level building layouts used in their architectural design process for detailed development.
Dematic Engineering India is a proud supporter of the Cummins College of Engineering for Women. With a focus on diversity and education, Dematic's engagement provides annual sponsorship of Team Zenith, a BAJA SAE racing team. The annual intercollegiate engineering design competition conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers challenges undergraduate engineering students to design, fabricate, and operate off-road vehicles. Dematic is honored to help promote the participation of Indian women in engineering activities and studies.
In 2023, Dematic began a collaborative partnership with Captain Planet Foundation’s Project Learning Garden. This distinctive program provides our affiliated schools with the necessary resources and chances to foster experiential, inquiry-driven learning in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) disciplines, all while integrating lessons centered on environment and sustainability.
Project Learning Garden serves as a community extension to our corporate sustainability framework, promoting active participation among our workforce, students, teachers, and community members year-round.
